Our story

The project began after Shahudhaan parted ways with Maldivian Idol Season 3, where he gained recognition in the local music scene. Wanting to explore a more personal and genre-bending sound, he set out to find a bandmate who could bring that vision to life. That search led him to Ihaad—a percussionist at the time, whose journey began in 2018 and quickly evolved into full-scale performances blending traditional grooves with modern beats.

Introduced through mutual friends, the two started jamming casually in 2019. What began as laid-back sessions soon turned into a serious collaboration, giving rise to a sound that seamlessly blends pop, rock, acoustic, alternative, and experimental elements.

Today, Rose Motif delivers music that’s rich in rhythm and raw emotion—shifting effortlessly between stripped-down acoustic sets and full-blown stage energy. The band isn’t defined by genre, but by the stories it tells and the mood it leaves behind.
